Experienced dentist providing clear aligners & invisalign in Durham City

If you've ever considered improving your smile but hesitated about traditional braces, Invisalign might be the answer you've been looking for. Unlike metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. This invisible approach makes Invisalign a popular choice for adults seeking a more discreet path to a confident smile. Dr Kinghorn has been providing invisalign and other clear aligner treatment since 2008.

We use primarily Invisalign and 32Co clear aligners.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation. We will assess your teeth, take X-rays, and create a digital treatment plan that maps out the desired movement of your teeth. This plan is used to create your custom-made aligner trays.

Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by a slightly different one. The subtle adjustments in each aligner gently shift your teeth into their final positions. The clear plastic material makes the aligners nearly invisible, allowing you to maintain a natural appearance throughout treatment.

Benefits of Invisalign & Clear Aligners

  • Discreet: Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are clear and practically undetectable. This makes them a good option for adults who don't want to feel self-conscious about their smile during treatment.

  • Comfortable: The smooth plastic aligners are more comfortable to wear than metal braces, which can irritate the cheeks and gums.

  • Removable: Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, and brushing your teeth. This allows for better oral hygiene and dietary freedom compared to traditional braces.

  • Faster Treatment: While individual cases vary, aligner treatment can sometimes be faster than traditional braces.

Is Cosmetic Tooth Alignment Right for You?

Invisalign is a great option for many adults with mild to moderate orthodontic issues, such as crowding, spacing, or minor bite problems. However, it may not be suitable for everyone. A consultation will help determine if Invisalign is the right choice for your specific needs and goals.
